what’s the reason for starting the powernerdz collective?

powernerdz.com was started because all of the original powernerdz have been working with each for many years (about a decade or so), and we not only enjoy working with each other, but each of us has a unique nerdy super power, that when we contribute to a project team, we make a full service, well rounded, power team. some of us nerdz love to strategize, some of us nerdz love to integrate different technologies and some love to get into the platform and configure; and across the board, all of us love, love, love to empower people like yourself, so we can set you up for long-term success with knowledge. because as they say, “knowledge is power!”

also, within the professional services space, specifically serving the small/medium business (smb) segment, we observed that it takes a long time for you (a smb company) to engage with an expert. once you’ve identified a problem you need to solve, it takes multiple calls, many conversations, days, sometimes weeks and in worst case scenarios, it takes months before you get an expert involved to help solve your problem. it is frustrating for people like yourself, to have to go through a whole rigamarole to finally get the project kicked off, when you clearly need to engage with an expert advisor to solve an identified problem. this is a barrier for a lot of smbs, since time is of the essence, and issues need to be solved sooner, rather than later. one of our key goals is to significantly reduce the time from ‘problem’ to ‘solution’ by connecting you directly to a powernerdz team who has a proven record of delivering the specific services.

simply put, we love working with each other, we love what we do, and we leverage our super powers to empower people like yourself!

where does the powernerdz name come from?

hot diggity, we get that question all the time! here’s how we thought about it. we asked ourselves, “hey, who has all the knowledge?” then we answered, “well, nerdz of course!” and then then we asked the logical follow up question, “what does knowledge really represent?” and the logical answer to that question is, “well, power of course!”… you know, knowledge is power! everyone has heard of that phrase right? so we took those two pieces about knowledge and mushed it together to come up with powernerdz! everyone in the collective is all about knowledge and sharing that knowledge with people who have a thirst for knowledge.

which technology platforms can the powernerdz collective help us with?

when should we get power nerdz involved?

hmmm… that is a wonderful question… we’ll answer it this way… most of our current clients work with many agencies before engaging power nerdz; and you should do the same. it is always a good idea to get a sense of what level of expertise is out there in the martech community. our clients also tell us that working with many agencies is kind of a hit-n-miss, but mainly miss. they engage power nerdz because simply put, we have nerdz who will make you successful. most of our clients are referrals, this is why we do not invest a lot on finding clients; we are laser focused on empowering our clients, which, amazingly enough, makes them really happy.

what are some common themes out in the marketing community that we can learn from?

we just had one of our new clients ask this same exact question! were you listening in on our call? :) just kidding! seriously though, one very common situation we see a lot is that marketing team members who are familiar with email marketing platforms (such as mailchimp), after they migrate to a marketing automation platform (such as marketo); they actually set up very tactical email campaigns in the new platform. essentially, setting up their marketing automation platform as if it were purely an email marketing system; email campaigns are mainly one-off email blasts, nurtures are complex drips which require a lot of logic to set up, data management rules are not established, lifecycle management is not set up, scoring is not done right, etc.. bottomline, the marketing team is using a powerful marketing automation platform as a very expensive email blast tool; it’s like buying a two story house and only using the first floor. but you've guessed it! we have powernerdz for that! we have powernerdz to help you reach, what we call, marketing automation dream state! our nerdz will help you design a true customer engagement strategy and setting up the system to fully support that strategy in a scalable way! oh yeah.. we do have scalable nerdz for that!

great question! the easiest thing to do is to take a peek at the services menu. there’s a succinct list of available service packages to help address your needs. we only add packages after we confirm that the powernerdz team who will deliver the service has a successful track record for delivering that package. which means each menu item will be mapped directly to an individual or a powernerdz team who knows how to best deliver that service; this is a key reason why we feel confident that you will have an amazing experience with any of the menu items you go with.

do all powernerdz wear glasses?

we thought a lot about this, and we do actually get this question quite a bit (hence why it’s on our FAQs). as we have more powernerdz join the collective, we have noticed that there are definitely some powernerdz who do not wear glasses, and we are absolutely ok with that! we do not discriminate, and we truly believe in having a diverse community. we want to be inclusive of nerdz who wear glasses, nerdz who do not wear glasses and even nerdz who wear glasses depending on their needs (e.g. reading). so to answer your question directly, no, not all powernerdz wear glasses and our community is so much better for that! sorry if the doodles on our website gave you that impression, and hopefully this answer is fun for you to read.
